ANXIETY OVER ECONOMY AS OIL PRICE DROPS BELOW BUDGET'S BENCHMARKA FRESH fall in the price of oil has again challenged the official position that the country is not broke and triggered anxiety about the government’s ability to meet its financial commitments. 

Indeed, the price of crude oil, the single commodity on which the country relies for the financing of her budgetary plans has now fallen below the benchmark price, both for the current fiscal year and the projection for the next year 2015.
